Frequently Asked Questions
You should notice an immediate improvement, however, it can take a couple of applications to build the barrier and achieve maximum results for your property. To maintain these maximum results, you must continue the recommended treatment schedule. After periods of rain fall, you may notice an slight increase in mosquito activity, this will typically subside as the mosquitoes attempt to navigate your property and eventually subside due to barrier application treatments. Although our service is very effective, we by know means can eliminate 100% of the mosquitoes (if so, we'd be charging a lot more). However, we are confident that you will love our service that is why there are no contracts and why we offer a 100% Skeeter-Treaters satisfaction guarantee.
A very common concern and question. Obviously, the more neighbors, the merrier, however, because we strategically apply the product in and around the perimeter of your property, we naturally create a barrier that will effectively control and reduce those mosquitoes that may drift over from your neighbor's property. Also, mosquitoes are average flyers, and when doing so they tend to "hop-fly"(not really a technical term) while going from point A to point B, which mean they will make frequent stops along the way to visit your property, thus a very high likelihood of landing on a treated area.
A typical barrier application on average will take about 20-30 minutes. Larger more complex properties may take longer to treat. Each treatment lasts approximately 21 days, at which time our team will be scheduled to return to scout and treat your property again.
In some cases such as special events like weddings and large outdoor parties, we may spray the grass or other non-traditional areas where your guests may gather.
The barrier application is most effective on mosquitoes, but can be effective on other pests such as fleas, ticks and some flies, mainly due to the similar habitats as mosquitoes. It may also have secondary effect to help deter wasps/bees.
In order to achieve the best results, it is better to begin treatments before the season starts, or before you notice mosquitoes in your yard. By getting ahead of the “bite,” you prevent mosquitoes from being able to establish a presence in your yard in the first place. In Northern Ohio, the start of mosquito season typically falls around May and runs through October, depending drastically on the variability of the weather.
The barrier application product we use is a botanical EPA 25(b) exempted product with active ingredients that are biodegradable, grown organically, approved safe for animals, fish, humans and plants when used as directed as well as bee and butterfly friendly. We may also use an approved granular mosquito larvicide to address areas of standing water where mosquitoes lay eggs.
You, your children and your pets should not be outside during the application but you may return to your outdoor fun after allowing the treatment to dry.
Special event applications are unique in that not only do we try to coordinate the timing of the application as close to the event as possible, we also apply the product to areas that we typically do not during our normal ongoing barrier applications. These areas may consist of large open grassy areas or other gathering areas where tables, tents, food stations, bars, other venue specific items/equipment may be set up.
No. As long as your gate is unlocked, your pets are inside, windows are closed, and no other work is being performed on your property our technician can apply the barrier application. Once our technician has completed the application, they will leave a door tag with a brief overview of our application which will include the date as well as the time of application. If you have other questions about your application, feel free to contact us.
As long as the application has had time to dry, the rain should not impact the effectiveness of the treatment.

Our technicians are trained to provide a custom treatment process for each individual property. They will walk and scout your property each visit being sure to address any areas that maybe "hot spots" for harboring mosquitoes as well as strategically applying the barrier around your property and landscape to protect you and your family. Our integrated approach addresses the entire life cycle by interrupting and targeting the known tendencies of mosquitoes. A mosquito truck sprays a dense fog intending to eradicate adult mosquitoes, however their service can only reach areas near the truck. In many cases, the backyard mosquitoes are left un-phased.
