For our Backpack Misting applications, we are so confident that you will love our service that is why there are no contracts and why we offer a 100% Skeeter-Treaters satisfaction guarantee. If you're not happy with our Backpack Misting application, contact us with within 2 weeks of our application and we will re-apply the application free of charge. If you're still not happy, we will gladly refund your money. If you have the hope of achieving 100% elimination, you should expect to take additional measures such as wearing long sleeve shirts, pants, and apply an on-body mosquito repellent of your choice.
A very common concern and question. Obviously, the more neighbors, the merrier, however, because we strategically apply the product in and around the perimeter of your property, we naturally create a barrier that will effectively control and reduce those mosquitoes that may drift over from your neighbor's property. Although mosquitoes are good at flying, they are known to "hop fly" while going from point A to point B, thus a very high likelihood of landing on a treated area.
A typical barrier application on average will take about 20 minutes. Larger more complex properties may take longer to treat. Each treatment lasts approximately 14-21 days, at which time our team will be scheduled to scout and treat your property again.
In some cases such as special events like weddings and large outdoor parties, we may spray the grass where your guests will be.
The barrier application is most effective on mosquitoes, but can be effective on other pests such as fleas, ticks and some flies. Some of the products we use are similar to those found in pet shampoos and medicines used to treat these other pests. However, our application process is specific to addressing the known habits and tendencies of mosquitoes.
In order to achieve the best results, it is better to begin treatments before the season starts, or before you notice mosquitoes in your yard. By getting ahead of the “bite,” you prevent mosquitoes from being able to establish a presence in your yard in the first place. In Northern Ohio, the start of mosquito season typically falls around mid-May and runs through October, depending on the variability of the climate.
There are two main products we use in our barrier applications. The first is an all-natural product that can be used around ponds, vegetable gardens, flowering shrubs to keep them safe and not harm our pollinators. Our other barrier application product is a synthetic form of a Pyrethrins called Pyrethroids. Pyrethrins are insecticides that are derived from the extract of chrysanthemum flowers. Pyrethroids are used in numerous commercial products that consumers use to control insects such as DIY household insecticides, pet shampoos/sprays, and even lice shampoos.
You, your children and your pets should not be outside during the application but you may return to your outdoor fun after allowing 60 minutes for the treatment to dry.
Yes, however, our all-natural spray needs to be applied more often. Prices may differ for this solution so please contact us for a quote.
No. As long as your gate is unlocked, your pets are inside, windows are closed, and no other work is being performed on your property our technician can apply the barrier application. Once our technician has completed the application, they will leave a copy of a service invoice for your records, which will include the date as well as the time of application so you know when it is safe to resume your outdoor activities.
As long as your property has had adequate time to dry after the application of your treatment (approximately 60 minutes), rain should not impact the effectiveness of the application. However, our Skeeter-Treaters Guarantee ensures that if the quality of your barrier spray service is affected by a torrential rain, we will return to your property to ensure you are mosquito-free until your next scheduled service.
We price our applications based on the size of your property or the key areas that will need to be treated. Contact us at any time by calling 330-801-9115 or by requesting an estimate online, and we will contact you within one business day with a free estimate and answer any additional questions you may have.
Absolutely. We have great solutions for many types of businesses such as restaurants with patios, parks, campgrounds, public pools, playgrounds, sports fields, daycares, outdoor wedding venues, schools and more.
Our technicians are trained to provide a custom treatment process for each individual property. They will walk and scout your property each visit being sure to address any areas that maybe "hot spots" for harboring mosquitoes as well as strategically applying the barrier around your property and landscape to protect you and your family. Our integrated approach addresses the entire life cycle by interrupting and targeting the known tendencies of mosquitoes. A mosquito truck sprays a dense fog intending to eradicate adult mosquitoes, however their service can only reach areas near the truck. In many cases, the backyard mosquitoes are left un-phased.
